do people still come on to tumblr?
I need to know if it worth resurrecting my acct.
Yesterday marked 7 years since the NYC skate community lost one of it’s most influential legends - Harold Hunter. Remembered for pushing through the LES on a Zoo York board, his role in Larry Clark’s 1995 film KIDS, and co-creating Rockstar Bearings, his spirit effortlessly manages to live vicariously through those who he had inspired throughout his life.
It’s hard to believe that 7 years have come and gone since the passing of a NYC skate legend; especially one with such an impact as Hunter. Equipped with a skateboard, good vibes, and an extremely magnetic personality his career consisted of acting, modeling, dancing and showcasing his skills on a board around the world. His extended palette of talents enabled him to help bridge gaps between different races, ages, social statuses, and medias.
Whether it be through the well-known contests and festivities of Harold Hunter Day, setting up a fresh set of Rockstar Bearings, or being lucky enough to have crossed paths with the icon himself - Harold continues to find a way to pass on the good vibes beyond the exclusive NYC skate-community.
If you or anyone you know would like to continue advocating Hunters’ vision, please visit the Harold Hunter Foundation for more information.
